Linking in…

As a fairly recent convert to using LinkedIn, I am realising the real potential the site has to both educate and connect with fellow diabetics, carers and professionals engaged with helping people with this condition to make the most of their lives.

Not only will you find that national and international charities and organisations have a presence there, you will also be able to connect with experts within the field along with the ‘real’ experts – the diabetic community themselves.

Research, debate and news are shared regularly, helping you to keep up-to-date with all that is happening and perhaps become more involved with developments which interest you most!

Personally I currently follow key organisations and leading academics involved with supporting the diabetic community and their families, but I am looking to extend my connections with tailored (and perhaps smaller) support groups and individuals to learn more about living with this lifelong condition.

I really would recommend giving LinkedIn another look, if you haven’t already, and seeking out those connections which help you to understand either your own condition or that belonging to someone you care for.
