Crumbling Pavlova

Now I have been called many things throughout my life but some of the best names have been associated with my role as a librarian.  I have even been a superhero from time to time when helping others to access the information they need.

Technology has brought much change to my profession, most of it positive, so I am not going to hold AI solely accountable for the demise of my profession.  Instead I have come to the conclusion that we are just too nice.  We politely underplay our skills and knowledge and seem uncomfortable reminding people of our power to empower others.

The time has never been more right to stand up and shout for ourselves to preserve a profession that really can make a positive impact within society.  We can help to conquer misinformation and equip others with the skills to make informed decisions… we can even help you to find your next favourite book 😉

I want to see the next generation of librarians remaining just as important as those before them… even if we need to get a bit radical
