It belongs to the world

Insulin injecting into apple

What a beautiful sentiment from the man who discovered insulin during the 1920s, Frederick Banting. History tells us that instead of being interested in making his fortune from this discovery, Banting instead stated “Insulin does not belong to me. It belongs to the world”.

Help to share Bantling’s story and to heighten awareness of diabetes by celebrating with a wonderful new children’s book from Lisa Katzenberger. Available to pre-order from most good bookshops, there is a lovely synopsis from Coles Books of Oxfordfordshire.

Diabetes UK also have a nice overview of Bantling and the discovery on insulin on their site.
