Transplantation

Promising results from Vertex brings further hope of a potential cure for type 1 diabetes.

This exciting research investigates how experimental stem therapy might restore insulin production within type 1 diabetics. Latest data using their VX-880 therapy show a significant improvement in participants A1C (time in range), along with a reduced need for insulin.

Although research is still very much at an early stage, VX-880 can potentially be offered to higher numbers of diabetics than other present forms of transplantation.

It’s worth keeping an eye on how things develop 💙
