Bursting bubbles

The rather lovely named BuBble Gun has been invented by researchers from the Netherlands, who are now developing it further to help change the way insulin gets into our bodies.

Anyone who injects themselves several times a day with insulin knows the complications that this can cause in terms of tissue damage, to say nothing of diabetics with a fear of needles.

The research team, led by Professor David Fernandez Rivas has created the device that deposits insulin through compression instead of needle injection, making it much less invasive.  This amazing EU funded project hopes to produce and share a  prototype by as early as 2025.  Not only could the BuBble Gun be a game changer for diabetics, but it could also help to deliver vaccinations across the globe.
