Hurrah for Bevan!

I came across an article online yesterday, which I just had to share as it demonstrates and celebrates the perseverance of the great Nye Bevan in establishing our wonderful NHS.

Michael Lambert’s piece in The Conversation offers an enlightening overview of the challenges encountered by Bevan, especially in regard to his collaboration with general practitioners and professional bodies such as the BMA.

The article is well worth a read as it reminds us of the struggle of many in establishing our marvellous national health service.  Above all, though, it should motivate us all to continue the fight and to protect the future of a service, which remains so essential to so many in our society today.
